I pledge to continue to do what I already do at home and to opt into an electric car for my next purchase and transition to solar power. I will continue to teach my children as I learn and engage them in this critical conversation. Since my work has been food, nutrition, health and environment focused (they can’t be mutually exclusive) for the past 30 years, I will continue to spread my message and encourage people to think differently about nourishment, for themselves and our planet.

My pledge is to continue to share the good news that we do have scientific-based solutions to reach drawdown–the point when greenhouse gasses peak and then decline, which will reverse global warming. Through the creation and actions of my own Personal Climate Action Plan (PCAP) and then hosting and guiding conversations with small groups of environmentally conscious people, I hope to inspire each participant to develop their own PCAP. Information on how to get involved is available on this website by clicking on Game On! and then clicking on Carbon CREW Project.

I pledge to honor Drawdown by composting all of my food waste and return the nutrients to the earth where carbon is sequestered, I pledge to continue my efforts with food waste and by planting a garden with all of the beautiful soil it will result in. I have been composting for 1 year straight and have 3 compost piles in progress.

As Greta says, at our current emissions rate our remaining CO2 budget for 1.5 degrees will be completely gone in 7 years. I will be 23.

This is a fact.

There is still hope, Greta says, because most people are not aware of the emergency. The emergency climate crisis. My pledge is for the next 7 years — to do everything I can to learn as much as I can about climate solutions, to act on those solutions, and to influence everyone I know, my parents, my friends, and the wider community, to take action. Now. Right now.

I pledge to be creative in my approach to honoring and supporting mother nature by exercising positive Drawdown solutions daily to reduce my carbon footprint by 50% by 2030.

Science tells us we need to live within the carrying capacity of the planet. I am fine-tuning my lifestyle to further lower my carbon emissions (conserving energy, substituting with renewable), and to further enhance natural carbon sinks (by composting, planting trees, protecting the oceans). Living within Earth’s atmospheric boundaries — I think of it as a challenge, like flying below the radar.

I want to honor the earth and recycle as much as I can, whenever I can.

I pledge to dedicate the time of my ‘last career’ to implementing the principles and practices of Drawdown to every level of Engagement–Personal, Friends & Family, Community and Governance. WeDontHaveTime (.org) is the Motto of Urgency right now. Let’s make it all happen–for ourselves, our children, and grandchildren yet to be born.

I pledge to learn, live and share regenerative ways of living so that together we all benefit and thrive in balance with Nature. As a first step, I am taking personal action by creating a lifestyle around Climate Cuisine — focusing on top Drawdown Solutions #1 Reducing Food Waste, #3 Plant Rich Diet, #57 Composting, and the solutions of Regenerative Land and Ocean Farming — with all their economic, health and safety benefits. I’m also encouraging my family, friends and community to enact these solutions.
